Road Accident Compensation Claims

If you have been involved in an accident on the road, that wasn’t your fault; you may be able to make a claim for compensation. This applies if you were driving, a passenger, a pedestrian or cyclist.

We are specialists in recovering compensation for people who have been injured in road accidents. We can take on your claim on a ‘no win – no fee’ basis.

All motorists are required by law to take out motor insurance and it is these insurers who will pay out compensation for victims of road accidents. Even if you were involved in an accident with an uninsured driver, or a hit and run, you can still make a claim for compensation to the Motor Insurers Bureau.

Driver compensation claims

If you were the driver of a vehicle that was hit, you are entitled to make a claim for compensation. Even if the accident was partly your fault, it may still be possible for you to claim compensation. Whiplash claims

Whiplash in a common injury suffered as a result of road accidents. It occurs when the head suffered an unexpected jolt caused by an impact. The head is thrown backwards at the same time as the body is propelled forwards. This causes injury to the neck muscles and joints. Other areas of the body can also be affected.

The results of whiplash can be symptoms such as head, neck and shoulder pain, headaches, ringing in the ears and pins and needles in the arms. These symptoms may be short lived or, in severe cases, they may be ongoing.

Passenger compensation claims

If you were injured while a passenger in a vehicle, you are entitled to make a claim for compensation. You may have been in a bus or taxi, a friend or family member’s car, a work vehicle or even a motorcycle.

Drivers and other road users have a duty of care to ensure the safety of passengers and in the vast majority of cases passengers will be an innocent party in the accident.

If you were injured whilst in a friend or family member’s vehicle it is important to remember that they will not be the ones who pay you the compensation, it will be their insurance company.

Some people are not keen to make a claim because they have a close relationship to the driver but that is after all what they pay their insurance premiums for.
